About the venue: The event will take place at the Kelso House located in the Monte Vista Historic District (photo above). The Kelso House was designed by Atlee B. Ayers in 1906, and has recently been acquired by the Power of Preservation Foundation (POP). We're excited to be partnering with them on a variety of hands-on learning opportunities to give new life to this gorgeous house! At this workshop we'll be focusing on the 'mechanical makeover' - making wood windows look and function like new again.
Level 1: One-day Homeowner Course (Saturday, June 22 only) - This course is ideal for homeowners, do-it-yourselfers, or anyone interested in the basics of wood window repair. Learn the terminology, tools, and techniques behind stripping, patching, refinishing, and re-glazing.* One-day cost is $95.
Level 2: Two-day Rehabber Club Contractor Certification Course (Friday, June 21 and Saturday, June 22) - This course is ideal for contractors, professionals, students, or homeowners looking to become skilled in wood window repair. Participants will be added to the Office of Historic Preservation's Certified Contractor List! Two-day course cost is $350.
